David and Jane's wedding at Springkell, Lockerbie.
I absolutely loved this wedding! Springkell is such an incredible venue for a wedding. They offer exclusive weddings in Scotland: if you are planning your wedding at Springkell you won't have to worry about random members of the public walking around as you will have entire estate to yourself. This is such a special wedding experience, spending time with your friends and family at the venue the day(s) before and after your wedding day give the whole weekend an extra special feel to it. The location of Springkell couldn't be any more epic. The grounds are incredible with endless locations for photos, and the inside of the mansion itself has so much history and beautiful bright rooms to enjoy.
Something I want to try a little different is to ask my past couples a few questions about their day. Here is what Jane had to say :)
How was your wedding!?
Our wedding was absolutely brilliant! It was so lovely having all our friends and family there to share our special day with us.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Our favourite part of the day was our Humanist ceremony. Our celebrant worked with us to create a ceremony that was personalised and reflected how we felt about our commitment to each other.
Would you do anything different?
If we were to do it differently, we probably wouldn’t have had a cake (even though it was delicious!). ‘Cutting the cake’ felt like something we had to do, but looking back, we don’t think we would’ve missed it if we left it out. Also, we would’ve practised our first dance!!
If you had trapped on a desert island and could only bring ONE photo from your wedding, which one would you pick?

What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding?
Don’t try to please everyone. Remember that the day is about you, the couple. And also, take some time out, just the two of you to let it all sink in.

David and Jane's wedding at Springkell was truly awesome. I love weddings where the ceremony and reception are all on site, as we don't lose any photography time to driving. They both got ready at Springkell in the morning also, so I was able to spend time with them both for photos before the ceremony. Their day went smoothly, however when we had planned to go out for their photos the rain started pretty heavy so we had to cut it short. Thankfully the rain calmed and we were able to go back outside for photos after the meal, and we were so thankful for the earlier rain as it created an incredible mist for a backdrop for the photos! So happy as this turned out at their favourite photo from the day :)
