Introducing The Old Rectory, Killyman. A *brand new* and exclusive wedding venue in Northern Ireland.
Towards the start of summer I was chatting to my friend Peter from Old Barn Catering and he mentioned there was a new venue soon to open in Killyman called The Old Rectory. I visited with my camera and I fell in love with the place. The Old Rectory has a rustic barn (perfect for ceremonies/drinks reception), a walled courtyard, a maze (1 acre in size!), colourful gardens and surrounded by 5 acres of enchanted woodland. This venue is incredible. There's also a summer house with an outdoor pizza oven, and a putting green!
I took some establishing shots of The Old Rectory but I felt it would be much better to showcase a wedding venue to have a couple along for a photoshoot. I knew exactly who to contact! I had shot the wedding of Gareth and Emma a few months previously and was thrilled when they agreed to get dressed in their wedding attire again and get some more photos taken. I was so pleased also when my friends were able to join me at The Old Rectory to collaborate on this shoot, Hollie at The Rosehip and Berry Floral Studio and Carly Proctor MUA. I can't recommend these girls enough.
We walked around the grounds of The Old Rectory and had a giggle. The grounds are truly massive, we were there for ages but still felt like there were so many areas left to explore. It is an absolute playground for taking pictures, such perfect contrasts and colours for the backdrop of your wedding photos. I really look forward to shooting a wedding here!
Such an exciting time to be planning a wedding in Northern Ireland. There are so many wedding venues here in Northern Ireland that are truly fantastic, with lots of different styles to offer. I can't compare The Old Rectory to anywhere else, it seems to fall in a class of it's own. I highly recommend you check it out at the first opportunity you get.
On one occasion when I visited with my camera, the lovely owners of The Old Rectory, Paul and Emma, were hosting a wedding for their friends so we were able to see the potential of the venue with the marquee set up for the meal and little details arranged in the barn. The Old Rectory in Killyman is 40 minutes from Belfast/90 minutes from Dublin and can cater for weddings of 50-230 attendees. If you are interested in booking me for your wedding at The Old Rectory, please do get in touch :)
