Marty & Lindsay | Engagement Shoot Edinburgh
Hiya! Breaking my blog silence! I really wanted to share a few favourites from a recent Edinburgh engagement shoot with my friends Marty and Lindsay :)
I studied Music with Marty many years ago and was psyched whenever he messaged to ask if I could shoot his wedding later this year. We had planned to meet for a chat and a giggle next time I was over in Scotland, and then I was able to integrate a wee engagement shoot into our time together. We did our engagement shoot around the streets of Edinburgh. I had just got a new camera (Fujifilm X100F) and couldn't wait to test it out properly. The Fuji is 2-3 times smaller than my wedding cameras (5D4), so the compact size of this camera seemed to bring a less intimidating feel to the photo shoot while still giving incredible results. The two of them were wild, we were giggling and screaming and not a care of who was watching. I absolutely love these two beauties and can't wait for their wedding!
Engagement/portrait sessions are a great idea before your wedding as it gives you both a chance to practice, and often I see the images then used for save the date/invites and printed for decorations to use at your wedding. Obviously on your wedding day you will feel like royalty with all your guests taking pictures of you, but there's something special about taking a random day out of your normal routine and have nice pictures taken of you both. It's not a requirement to 'practice' before the big day, I shoot a lot of weddings where we don't do an engagement shoot beforehand, however it is a nice wee touch to have some nice professional photos of you both before you get married :)
