Neil & Maeve's Wedding at Finnebrogue Woods, Downpatrick
Finnebrogue Woods Wedding Photographer
As a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland, I’ve seen so many different contrasting venues, with lots of different options that cater to a variety of different styles and tastes. If you’re planning your wedding and want an alternative and relaxed atmosphere (at the side of a lake!) with incredible woodland surroundings, Finnebrogue Woods in Downpatrick in such a brilliant venue.
Finnebrogue Woods is perfect for capturing beautiful pictures without having to walk too far to get to the perfect background. Finnebrogue’s natural surroundings offer numerous locations with beautiful backdrops, from the beautiful forestry surroundings to the tranquil atmosphere of the lake, which is a dream for any wedding photographer. For Neil and Maeve’s photos we did a brief photoshoot on arrival and then again when the sun started to set in the evening. They spent most of their day enjoying the drinks reception, which I always try to achieve as I believe it’s important for your wedding day to not feel like a long photoshoot.
Derek Ewing was the toastmaster and did an excellent job of keeping the order of the day running smoothly. He was charming and engaging and keeps the banter flowing. It was great to see him in action and he was an absolute gentleman as always. He always adds a touch of class to any wedding he attends. Vicki at Berry and Buds created the incredible floral arrangements and I can’t recommend her enough.
After the speeches, I approached Maeve’s dad to let him know that his speech was genuinely the best father of the bride speech I had ever heard. He honoured the couple’s relationship perfectly, and his variety of stories were both wholesome and hilarious. It was so nice to witness how proud he was of his daughter and new son-in-law.
The evening entertainment was provided by Sugartown Road, who kept the dancefloor busy throughout the night. I first saw Sugartown Road 10 years ago, and their standard for entertainment is still as high as ever.
As a wedding photographer, I am grateful to have been a part of this magical day, and I look forward to capturing many more beautiful moments in Finnebrogue Woods for future couples. If you are planning your wedding at Finnebrogue Woods (or anywhere in Northern Ireland!) and you think I might be a good fit, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you!
