Emma Case | The Welcome Home Workshop

IMG_0142

Hiya!

So a while back I saw an ad on Facebook from a creative network in London called IdeasTap who were running a wee competition to win a photography workshop with Emma Case. I entered it and thought nothing of it, there were a lot of people who applied and I thought it was highly unlikely I would get one of the 10 slots. Then one day out of the blue I had received an email to say I had won a place, and I shrieked like a girl!

The night before the workshop I went on a couple’s shoot around Camden, you can check it out here

The day of the workshop I really didn’t know what to expect at all. I got there and was greeted by a real hug from Emma. She instantly comes across as someone who cares and has time for you. I was then greeted by a super manly hug from her husband Pete. Pete is a cool looking beardy dude, so my ‘man crush’ level was at 40% at this stage. We then spoke about bands, and the level went the full 100%.

I can’t seem to find the words to describe the workshop. It was just.. Awesome. The workshop was filled with tears, honesty and so much personality. Their stories were reassuring and inspiring. They work so well as a team, and I can’t wait until my wife Diana joins me at weddings so we can work like the awesome partners Emma and Pete are.

Kat Williams from Rock N Roll Bride joined us to give us some great advice, and her and her husband Gareth modelled for us. I tried not to take too many pictures while Emma was working as I really wanted to see how she did things. She really brings the best out in couples and it was amazing to see her charm in action.

photographers, if you get an opportunity to head along to the welcome home workshop, *please* do it.  it’ll make you a better person ツ

"Super manly hug" he he he. And I couldn't agree more with your last sentence. :)
